Pursuing yesterday’s theme of specifications led to a nice productive session with FreeMind, an excellent mind mapping program that I’m pleased to see has finally hit the 1.0 version. Mind maps are really good for getting what is in your head out on paper where you can look at it and realize where a lot of the missing pieces are. It allows for quick notes with structure and connectivity to larger pieces. As a free, open source tool, I love it as it has the advantage of not adding to my cost structure. Unfortunately, there’s no IOS version so when I mind map on the road I use iThoughts, which accepts freemind maps as a format.
