For this Seth Sunday  I’m presenting bat boy syndrome. Seth’s observation is that everybody wants to be on the winning team. Everybody wants to join Google, Disney, and Pixar. But Everybody is terrified to be the first guy to create that winning team. Few want to go out there and create the flags that are planted on the hill.

What’s interesting to me is the process of separating the winners and the losers, and seeking to create the identifiers that allow the sufferers of bat boy syndrome to pick a team that they consider safe. Creating those social markings is part of what starts the virtuous circle of attracting talent that can more reliably create something that is remarkable.
